The upside is that during the summer, warm sunny days provide ideal weather for exploring by motorcycle! There can be significant weather changes in mornings and evenings, so layered four-season jackets are best, along with good riding gloves.

This motorcycle ride in Minnesota between Red Wing and La Crescent follows the Mississippi River and all of its incredible landscape features. The scenery on US-41 and US-61 features is a nice mix of forest, rivers, lakes and farmlands. One of the very best motorcycle roads in Minnesota is this portion of Hwy 61 (MN-61) that takes you along the Lake Superior shoreline. There are numerous parks to explore along the way, including Tettegouge State Park and Split Lighthouse State Park. There’s beautiful views of the coastal line, but the views are especially scenic if you take this route from north to south. Lake Minnetonka Shoreline Loop on Shoreline Dr and N Shore Dr is one of the best Minnesota motorcycle rides in the state. The road can be choppy in spots, but this route offers long, sweeping turns as well as some entertaining technical sections. The curvy route from Chaska to Henderson is one of our favorite Minnesota motorcycle rides in the state. Enjoy this scenic, winding motorcycle road through hills and valleys of southern Minnesota. The ride will cover beautiful farm lands which passes along the edge of the Minnesota river valley. There’s some twisty sections to navigate, and an especially fun ride going through the canyon area. Motorcyclists will appreciate the lack or traffic, despite its location just southwest of Minneapolis.
