FLINT HILLS NATIONAL SCENIC BYWY

DISTANCE: 108 miles
TIME: 2 hours
The Flint Hills National Scenic Byway is one of the top Kansas motorcycle rides in the state. This scenic Kansas motorcycle road will take the rider through some of the state’s historic rural country. KS-177 includes a motorcycle ride in the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, through the Kansas Flint Hills. The Flint Hills National Scenic Byway is a beautiful motorcycle ride throughout most of the year, showing off the panoramic vistas of the tallgrass prairie and some green rolling hills as far as the eye can see.

US-36

DISTANCE: 391 miles
TIME: 6.5 hours
If you’re looking to tour the northern part of the state, US-36 is just under 400 miles of smooth, lightly traveled pavement. US-36 is one of the best Kansas motorcycle rides which offers a slice of the various geographic zones of Kansas. The western end is straight and flat, and the middle portion of this Kansas motorcycle ride rolls gently among stunning panoramic views. The eastern end keeps on rolling and features cuts in the limestone formations that are prevalent on that side of the state. Be sure to check out the motorcycle museum in St. Francis.

LEAVENWORTH TO WYANDOTTE PARK
ROUTES: KS-5, N93 St, West Dr
DISTANCE: 13 miles
TIME: 30 mins
The route from Leavenworth to Wyandotte Park is a short motorcycle ride in KS that’s packed with hills, hidden turns and fun elevation changes. It’s a more technical ride so some level of caution is required as there are lots of short blind rises and tight corners. The road surface is in excellent condition, making it one of the top Kansas motorcycle rides. And motorcycle riders will delight in the more beautiful scenery further south at Wyandotte County Lake Park.

PERRY LAKE LOOP
ROUTES: KS-237, KS-4, Ferguson Rd
DISTANCE: 53 miles
TIME: 1 hour
Just northeast of Topeka is the beautiful Perry Lake. This loop makes for one of the best Kansas motorcycle rides, as it features nice views of Perry Lake and fun changes in elevation. Perry Lake State Park is on the west side of this route. Motorcyclists will appreciate the scenic ride among lots of trees and some nice curves. One of our shorter routes is the Native Stone Scenic Byway, which is a great motorcycle ride in Kansas west of Toledo. This portion of KS-99 is between Hwy 70 and Kansas Route 4 and runs close along near Mill Creek. The route features nice, sweeping curves and hills with excellent pavement quality. TIME: 2.5 hours
For a great Kansas motorcycle ride with a surprising amount of turns, check out Kansas Route 4. This road can be started just outside Topeka, then head west for 122 miles to where it meets up with Route 104. While there’s a typical amount of relaxing straight-a-aways, there’s some enjoyable curves on the eastern side of this route in Dover and Farmer, KS.
