ROUTE 77

DISTANCE: 26 miles
TIME: 45 mins

This east/west Maryland motorcycle road between Smithsburg, and Union Bridge twists its way through the densely forested Catoctin Mountain Park and riding west gives some very nice scenery of the mountain range. East of the park the road offers straight open road scenery.

ROUTE 550

DISTANCE: 28 miles
TIME: 45 mins

This stretch of motorcycle road in northern Maryland from Sabillasville to Libertytown has some diversity with straightaway open farmland, as well as curves along the forest of Catocctin Mountain Park. Continuing this route north takes you into some great little roads of Pennsylvania's State Parks and Forests.

ST. MARY'S RIVER LOOP

DISTANCE: 63 miles
TIME: 1.5 hours

One of the best motorcycle rides in Maryland can be found on this loop in the southern part of the state around St. Mary's River State Park. Most of this route consists of long straights alongside farmland, but there's a few twisties to navigate with plenty of scenic stops along the way. Be sure to ride to Point Lookout State Park at the southernmost part of this great motorcycle ride in Maryland.

CHARLES COUNTY LOOP

MD-225, MD-224, MD-425, MD-6
DISTANCE: 65 miles
TIME: 1.5 hours

There are numerous state parks and forests along this loop in the western portion of Charles County. Riders will experience some of Maryland's best woodland and rural scenery with a few sharp curves. Very good road pavement on this Maryland motorcycle route with some nice views of the Potomac river along the way. ELK NECK STATE PARK

MD-272, Old Elk Neck Rd
DISTANCE: 17 miles
TIME: 30 mins

This is a short, yet enjoyable ride in the Elk Neck State Park and Forest area. The State park area offers vast landscapes and waters of the Chesapeake Bay. The route is twisty in a few areas through the woods along with a few hills. Stretch your legs and take the short hike to the Turkey Point Lighthouse at the end of this Maryland motorcycle ride.
